In 1993 Peter founded Hunter Hall Investment Management Limited which has grown to become Australia’s largest dedicated ethical investment company with over A$1.5 billion of assets.
Peter has been interested in the environment and animal welfare since he was a child. Over 20 years ago he helped to found the Sydney Rainforest Action Group and has campaigned to improve animal welfare and prevent the extinction of rhinos, mountain gorillas, Bactrian camels, whales, dolphins and orang-utans. He is a Director of the International Rhino Foundation, Patron of the Asian Rhino Project and founder of the London Committee for the Abolition of Whaling. He has supported numerous conservation causes including the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, Greenpeace, Sea Shepherd, Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, Wild Camel Protection Society, Save International, Voiceless, the Great Ape Project and Free the Bears. Hunter Hall has donated over A$8 million to charities over the past 10 years.
Peter was awarded Member (AM) of the Order of Australia in 2010 for his philanthropic contributions to society and his service to the finance management industry.
